Isle of Skye, Scotland

Smell of seaweed.. Skye island. Beautiful. Spent the night in Kyleakin in Saucy Mary’s Lodge facing the ocean and literally FEET from it.

Checked into our room and then ran to these amazing CASTLE RUINS on a vertical hill right above the ocean. WONDERFUL. Met these crazy Spanish people at the top and chatted with them a bit. Then just sat on the dangerous rocks and f@#$ing enjoyed the view. :)

Portree for dinner. Ate at a little local cafe and got fish and chips. Then coffee afterwards because it was SO COLD and SO WET.

Warmth main inspiration for actions on this trip.

Bagpipe- like a recorder on the base!

yellow flowers all over

Failte! Welcome

little rocky landmasses in lochs and ocean.

massive land forms towering all around

Moar castle

Spanish people on top- “KONICHIWA!!”

BEAUTIFUL view

Critically watched Bertrand struggle to the top. :P

SNOW FORECAST. Thought a joke a few days ago. Now I know. :P

Question- Old 97s

BOOKS. BOOKSTORES. LIBRARIES. SO SAD BECAUSE I CANNOT BUY OR CHECK ANYTHING OUT RIGHT NOW!!! No room in luggage, no time as well.

To get to Kyleakin we went over a huge bridge across the ocean.

Nothing like Northern villages. Different culture completely. Nice. But sometimes disconcerting as it is so far from civilization.

Walked along sea: slabs of balck rock. Arrive at bottom of vertical hill and proceed up. :)

Breathtaking view

Refreshing to explore on own apart from the big group

Seaweed!

white washed concrete houses black roofs cut out windows without shutters- typical Scottish houses. :)

ALL OVER

Like German houses but less colorful and no shutters.

Lots of sea.

Lots of height

A mixture of Maine and Colorado.

Edinburgh the “Athens of the North.” So true!! With the ocean and the snow capped mountains!

Entering Kyleakin: seagulls. and then a big fat chicken running down an alleyway. :P

raining.

Cows with horns and hair covering eyes. Red. Look like what I imagine yaks look like. Beautiful.

Eating grass. :)

No decoration on houses like in England. Just practical and cute. :)

Laundry drying outside in all backyards

SHEEP

GREEN GRASS

rocks and clumps of tall wild different colored grass

WAVES in the ocean
